Chile has among the most important natural and cultural attractions in the Western Hemisphere, but for various reasons has not until recently determined to leverage these in the interest of sustainable tourism. La Paz Group has partnered with Dalberg on a project funded by IADB in Chile’s most important regions in the south of the country to diversify the local economy.

In Maule this meant going beyond wine production into high value-added, experiential tourism. Entrepreneurs in the southern tip of the country, Magallanes, are pursuing a sustainable tourism development strategy focused on leveraging local nature and adventure attractions to diversify their economy. In Aysen the fly-fishing is among the best in the world, and with the region of Los Rios Chile’s southern zone boasts some of the largest and most innovative private conservation areas on the planet.
