LPG-Guatemala

La Paz Group founder Crist Inman first worked in Guatemala after the Guatemalan Peace Accords of 1996 were signed, again working with a team from CLACDS. The primary product that year was the tourism cluster diagnostic. This team was also responsible for organizing the first tourism congress in a generation to gather several hundred of the industry’s leader from a complete cross-section of geographic, educational, ethnic and economic profiles; the highlight of the congress was the commitment made by the President of Guatemala, during his address to the industry, to make tourism the top priority of his administration going forward. Dr. Inman worked under two additional contracts—both focused on public sector institutional reform in the tourism sector— in 1998 through the Guatemala Chamber of Tourism and in 2005-2006 through USAID.
