La Paz Group founder Crist Inman led a joint team of researchers from CLACDS and the leading economic development agency of Honduras to establish strategic priorities for the sustainable development of cultural tourism surrounding the archaeological site in Copan. The unique features of this Mayan temple were related to a recent excavation of full color wall icons and adornments that were in superior condition to any found in other Mundo Maya sites in Central America or Mexico. Likewise the town nearby the temple was in authentic, unspoiled condition and therefore a prime candidate for a responsible framework for the tourism development that would naturally follow the international media attention given to the recent excavations. Project funded by BCIE and Avina Foundation.
